Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skincare treatment designed to exfoliate the skin and improve its appearance. The procedure involves using a specialized device to gently buff away the outer layer of dead skin cells, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion underneath. It is typically used to address issues such as

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Enlarged pores
  • Sun damage
There are two main types of microdermabrasion:
Crystal Microdermabrasion: Fine crystals (typically aluminum oxide) are sprayed onto the skin’s surface to exfoliate it, and the used crystals and dead skin are suctioned away.

Diamond Microdermabrasion: A diamond-tipped wand is used to exfoliate the skin, and the debris is vacuumed away.

The treatment is usually quick (about 30 minutes to an hour) and requires minimal downtime. After a microdermabrasion session, skin may appear slightly pink, similar to a mild sunburn, but this typically subsides within a few hours to a day. To maintain optimal results, multiple treatments are often recommended, depending on the skin condition. After the procedure, it’s important to protect the skin with sunscreen, as it may be more sensitive to the sun. It’s also advisable to follow a gentle skincare routine to allow the skin to heal properly.
